New Fantasy Action RPG: Tarnished
■ An Overview
Elden Ring, better known as Tarnished, is the first RPG game from Indie Game ‘JYUMP! Inc. This is a long-awaited fantasy RPG that combines aspects of the MEthods series, the GBA dungeon-exploration classic “Bitch~”, and the action RPG genre. While it is a fantasy RPG game, it is not a fantasy action game, but an RPG with action and fantasy elements.
Some information is to be considered approximate. Certain features will be added after releasing the game.

I understand that most power supplies have large capacitors in front of the power connector to stabilize the output. Power quality is a huge issue for electronics.
Is it possible to change the level of the power source (using a variable transformer or other linear method) to reduce ripple?
A:
The root cause of ripple is not as much in the power supply but in the impedance of the loads.
For example, if you have a speaker and a mic, you need both to have an input impedance of at least 1 megaohm (\$\Omega\$). With say, 1-2% ripple on power supply, you are now requiring 1+e^{j2\pi*0.01}=1.01*10^4\$\Omega\$ for the speaker and 1+e^{j2\pi*0.01}=1.01*10^4\$\Omega\$ for the mic, so you’ll quickly get to a point where you don’t get very good audio quality.
If the two are separate, you can do this easily by a series resistor (\$R\$) with a built-in resistor divider. The series resistor limits the input impedance of the circuit, and the circuit operates with the same input impedance that the power supply is providing, so the ripple effect is limited.
This is a very common trick for television oscillators. The tube has a high input impedance so it doesn’t damage itself from sideband distortion in the power supply, but the high input impedance means that the 1.7 MHz signal from the line-lock divider must drive a much higher impedance in the tube, so the distortion from ripple is smaller.
