The clonal propagation efficiencies of mastocytoma cells obtained from the two subcloning systems were less than that (46.1%) of NFS-60 cells. The MCTC42 cells in the subclones were heterogeneous, but subclones were single or double color clones. The MCTC42 cells transplanted into the spleen of syngeneic BALB\/c mice grew with no signs of autolysis. The MCTC42 cells were easier to maintain in subclones than other mastocytoma cells.
