We also show that the structure of the superlattice can be recovered when decompressed to the equilibrium state. This change in the nanoparticle superlattice structure can be directly monitored in situ by a synchrotron radiation X-ray source for the first time and is found to be well related to the dimensionality of the nanoparticles.
