All patients underwent imaging studies (magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] or computed tomography [CT]) before surgery. According to the MRI or CT imaging features, we confirmed that 8 patients had intratumoral hemorrhage, 1 had an elevated lesion, 3 had a mass lesion, and 6 had neither. The lesions were located in the outer quadrant in 10 patients, in the central quadrant in 2, and in the inner quadrant in 4. These lesions were oval, round, or irregular shaped. The lesion size ranged from 2.5 to 10.7 cm (median, 4.4 cm). The majority of the lesions were located in the subareolar or intramammary gland area. Surgical excision was performed on all 16 patients.
