In the first of the two shows the government took the wraps off a retail security plan to ensure the public is protected from cannabis retailers breaking the law. In the second show the government announced that it will loosen the restrictions for cannabis retailers to allow them to begin as soon as May 1.<\/p>\n
The government of Doug Ford has already laid out plans to pull cannabis from the illegal market, and will do so on April 1.<\/p>\n
The day before the provincial budget was delivered, Finance Minister Vic Fedeli said the government will ensure the country is ready for cannabis legalization, and wants to ensure Ontario is the \u201csafest place\u201d for consumers to purchase cannabis.<\/p>\n
When asked about how he wants to market pot, Fedeli said he wants Ontarians to have a great experience.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Fedeli said the province plans to fully regulate cannabis once it is legalized, and the rules around selling cannabis will be tight. Retail stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n
