The HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection software provides individual and\/or automatic protection of a hard drive and protects against data loss and data damage. This software detects if the computer is activated by the power loss, when it is in battery mode or when a hard drive is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object.
\nIf the hard drive is activated, the software parks the hard drive heads in a safe place allowing the computer to be used as normal. If the hard drive is not in a safe place and it is being accessed, the HDD protection software will automatically park the HDD heads. If the hard drive is not in a safe place and it is not being accessed, the HDD protection software will reduce the input\/output activity on the hard drive.
