A life-sized replica of a Viking warrior will be on display at the Pembroke Cultural Centre in Huddersfield in the UK for the first time next week.<\/p>\n
The 9-foot figure, dressed in Viking armour and wearing a traditional helmet, has been designed to honour the contributions of indigenous peoples to Britain throughout its history.<\/p>\n
The Pembroke project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and is part of the Museums in Libraries service. An exhibition featuring the life-size statue, as well as artefacts recovered in the local area, will run until 21 June 2013.<\/p>\n
