This package provides an SSIS Control Flow Custom Component. As the name says it, this “Control Flow” custom component can be used to transfer files via a SFTP Connection.\nFirst of all, you have to add the component into the ToolBox in the category “Control Flow Items” in the usual way… right click, you choose the “SSIS Control Flow Items”, you search and check “SFTP Task” and push the OK button.<\/p>

<\/p> <\/p> <\/p> <\/p> <\/p> – Data Store: The data store is the SFTP Server.\u00a0This value can be set from the runtime.\n– Stream Connection: The stream connection is the SFTP Connection.\n– Stream: The stream is the SFTP Connection in the stream mode.\n– SFTP Connection: The SFTP Connection is the SFTP Connection.\u00a0This can be set from the runtime as well.\n– SFTP Server: This is the SFTP Server.\n– SFTP Login Name: This is the SFTP Login.\n– SFTP Password: This is the SFTP Password\n– Directory: This is the Destination Directry.\n– Load the Data: Yes, this means that if the component is enabled the data should be loaded into the destination directory.\n– Do nothing: This is an advanced option that can be set from the runtime.\u00a0For example, you may want to do some operations while the file is being loaded into the destination directory.\u00a0In this case, you can set the \u201cDo nothing\u201d to \u201cYes\u201d.\n– Load the File: Yes, this means that if the component is enabled the file should be loaded into the destination directory.\n– File Name: This is the name of the file that is being uploaded to the SFTP server.\n– Load the File: Yes, this means that if the component is enabled the file should be loaded into the destination directory.\n– File Name: This is the name of the file that is being uploaded to the SFTP server.\n– Destination: This is the Destination Directory where the file will be stored.\n– Size: This is the size of the file that is being uploaded to the SFTP server.\nWhen you configure the SFTP Task, first you have to enable the task then you can specify the main Settings and the Settings for the SFTP Task.\u00a0You can test the current settings to make sure that everything works.\nSSIS SFTP Settings Description:\n– Enabled: This is a bool value.\u00a0This is required because the file transfer is enabled only if it is set to \u201cYes\u201d.\u00a0The default is \u201cNo\u201d.\n– Server: The SFTP Server IP Address is the location where the SFTP connection must be located.\u00a0By default, this is the IP of the server (or the server you want to connect to).\u00a0Remember that the SFTP server must be configured on the account that is used to connect to the server<\/p> <\/p> This Control Flow component provides a SFTP connection and a Data Flow task to move a file from one directory to another in different servers.\u00a0Under the hood a Windows Batch Script is launched to perform the SFTP operation.\u00a0If the Batch Script returns with any error like \u201cEnter a valid server key:\u201d, the SFTP operation will fail.\u00a0You can add error handling logic to get the error string from the Batch Script.\u00a0\u00a0You can add multiple server keys to connect to multiple server.\nIf there is a non valid server key for example, the SFTP operation will fail with an error message like \u201cCan not connect to the remote server, when there is no key for this server.\u201d.\nSSIS SFTP Control Flow Custom Component Implementation:\nFor SFTP connection,\u00a0you have to add two \u201cIn\u201d ports and two \u201cOut\u201d ports\u00a0(They need to be different ports): \u00a0\u00a0\u2013 SFTP Server Port \u00a0\u00a0\u2013 SFTP client port\u00a0(Ex: 22, 9, 80 etc.)\nYou must also add an \u201cSFTP Connection Manager\u201d to define the related servers, an SFTP service, the related keys, download a file from an FTP is actually the best solution for certain tasks, because Script Components are just that, scripts. You can add code to every Event Handler – for an example, an OnError event handler that calls an API call when the download fails, you can make it pause a bit while you have time to think, solve the problem, etc. \nThe SSIS package will then pause if an error occurred while running the task, and you can handle those errors in your own code.
