Like it&#8217;s just like sort of the dirty, dirty side of your Axe Fx 2<br \/>\nThe basic thing is you&#8217;ve got a 2nd order LPF with an average frequency, which would be a 3 dB over on the 650, which is only a 3.5 dB gain boost.<br \/>\nSo if I&#8217;d normally have that setting at around 5, then this one&#8217;s going to be around 8 or 9<br \/>\nand you&#8217;ve got a 3 dB, which is a 3 dB over, so it&#8217;s got a little bit more noise, but that&#8217;s the frequency response<br \/>\nso you can get that extra kick in your sound as well<br \/>\nThen, I actually like the pinkish tint I&#8217;ve added to the guitar because you can really hear how damaged the overdrive is<br \/>\nYou could have the same kind of sound, but it actually adds to the character a bit. It gives it a lot of personality, I think<br \/>\nKind of like how it sort of gives you one of those crazy old Fender reverb pedals<br \/>\nBut the thing I like about this is a little bit more effective, because it&#8217;s actually distorting your signal first<br \/>\nSo, you can kind of hear the difference of the drive sound before you get really into the grit. So you&#8217;re not getting that<br \/>\ndistortion that&#8217;s just too much, it&#8217;s just going to make everything sound a little bit too harsh<br \/>\nYou could do that, but I&#8217;d probably rather get a bit of that added character, and that seems to fit with the character of this one a bit<br \/>\nnow if you want to go up in volume, you can add that super dirty tone to your amp just by cranking it up with boost<br \/>\nAll of these pedals don&#8217;t actually have boost on them. It can&#8217;t play other notes but it&#8217;s a fun pedal for the first iterations of setting up your own overdriven tones.<br \/>\nThe super subby circuitry can be turned off to make a more normal filter tone.<br \/>\nThis is a passive pedal &#8211; you don&#8217;t need to connect anything to the pedalboard.<br \/>\nNo battery is required either.<br \/>\nSubfreak&#8217;s inputs are any combination of the amp&#8217;s gain and wah.<br \/>\nYou get six presets to load out of the gate on the onboard memory.<br \/>\nThe ones we have got access to are the ones Pete has designed.<br \/>\nIf you are interested in Pete&#8217;s original idea check out the video at:<\/p>\n<p>Subfreak is a 12dB\/octave overdrive + low pass filter that gives you the option of either a subby or normal overdrive sound.<br \/>\nThe subsonic circuit has been set a little more aggressively, the stop<br \/>\nbasso piece of the sound is a little more pronounced.<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s a loop switch for &#8216;bass&#8217;
