However, the problems started with the game mechanics. There are no Mana points (check out the artwork for reference) and no real stat growth, though you do start with a large amount of passive MP with no point to spend it on. It’s impossible to gain access to new skills or weapons unless your stats get high enough to make them available. Even if they do, you have to pay a very high price to level them, which is a completely unrealistic experience that really hurts the game. My character’s stats weren’t growing at all, since I could only use the blacksmiths I’d unlocked on the second quest. I had to grind the entire game for passive MP gain. I had to quest for new gear, unlocking new skills, and other things in order to be able to level up or get equipment that would give me passive stats. The game just didn’t feel like it was designed with new players in mind, so I had to figure out everything by myself.
