GMC42<\/p>\n
GMC42 (also called the XRV42) is a 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8 variant of the GMC Envoy. It debuted in 2003 as a concept by GM in response to the Jeep Wrangler’s success and the Toyota Land Cruiser’s influence in the market. The GMC42X is the production version of the concept.<\/p>\n
The XRV42 line was initially limited to a run of approximately 35 vehicles before being upgraded to a run of 100 to 300 for production. <\/p>\n
The vehicle is assembled in San Dimas, California.<\/p>\n
The GMC42X has been available for sale only in the U.S.<\/p>\n

\nIn general, semiconductor devices such as, for example, a nonvolatile memory device, are designed to have a multi-layered structure in which a floating gate electrode, an inter-layer insulating film formed over the floating gate electrode, an impurity diffusion layer formed over the inter-layer insulating film, a control gate electrode formed over the impurity diffusion layer, and an insulating film formed on both sides of the floating gate electrode.
\nIn such a multi-layered structure, there are cases where the insulating film formed on both sides of the floating gate electrode formed on the semiconductor substrate is thicker than the inter-layer insulating film formed over the floating gate electrode. In this case, the electric field generated when erasing the data from the memory device is concentrated on the insulating film formed on both sides of the floating gate electrode, thereby causing an abnormally large stress to the insulating film. The stress applied to the insulating film causes minute flaws or cracks to be generated in the insulating film. If such flaws are present in the insulating film, the electric field is also concentrated on the flaws, thereby causing dielectric breakdown<\/p>\n
