I have the following HTML:<\/p>\n

What I want is to change their classes, so the first would become this:<\/p>\n

and the second would become this:<\/p>\n

So, I’m trying to select sibling elements and add active class to one of them.
\nI can get the current class as easy as $(‘div.left div’).attr(‘class’)
\nbut I can’t get the sibling element itself
\nI tried:
\nvar which = $(this).attr(‘class’);<\/p>\n

but that didn’t work. Any help would be appreciated.<\/p>\n

will add the active class to an existing class attribute on an element
\nYou want to add it to the.big that is a child of.left
\nvar siblings = $(this).find(‘.big’);
\nsiblings.eq(0).addClass(‘active’);<\/p>\n

Assuming you’re trying to do this for all the.big div’s in the class.left, you could just select them, and then use.addClass() to add the active class to one of them:<\/p>\n
