\nUpload downloaded firmware to your RNS 510. Start the RNS 510 manually with the CD. Insert the firmware.

\n SW: 5238 Update by josi. I put the CD-R with the firmware on it straight into the RNS 510 and it powered up and started to read the disc.

The following step explains how to upgrade to the newest version of the software on your RNS 510:<\/p>\n

1. Insert the updated file into the root of the SD card.
\n2. Turn off the device.
\n3. Press the power button to turn on the device.
\n4. Press the settings button for several seconds.
\n5. Select “update”.
\n6. Press the “update” button until the “update” message is replaced with a “success” message and the progress bar has stopped moving.
\n7. Press the home button to shut down the device.<\/p>\n

You can either re-insert the original firmware or remove the updated file.<\/p>\n

The previous step explains how to update the firmware version 4K6 3 you currently have installed on your RNS 510:<\/p>\n

1. Insert the original firmware file into the root of the SD card.

When you installed the original firmware, you inserted the micro SD card. If you wish to reinstall the original firmware, remove the micro SD card.<\/p>\n

**Removed:** Latest version of RNS 510 Firmware. You are not required to use a micro SD card to flash the newest firmware. There are online tutorials on how to flash using USB and using an adapter for a micro USB.<\/p>\n
