Photoshop CS5 New Features:
Adding text: The “text tool” panel options have been greatly expanded, including a full WYSIWYG interface. Type to insert text and drag to place it.
Project Pen: Convert Photoshop files to a new, easy-to-use design format that is easily readable and editable in Microsoft Word.
Photoshop Camera Raw: This free plug-in allows you to gain full control over the raw files.
Photoshop keyboard shortcuts: Current keyboard shortcuts for Photoshop have been expanded to work for both Windows and Mac.
In addition to the new and improved features, many of the older ones from the previous version have been taken out. These include:
Smart Brush: The Smart Brush tool has been removed.
Traps: Some “Trap Tools” have been removed.
Scratch Displacement: The Scratch Displacement feature has been removed.
Lens Corrections: The Lens Correction tool has been removed.
Duplicate Stitching: The Duplicate Stitching feature has been removed.
More features have been added that make accessing and using many tools easier:
Saving a Grid over any selected area.
Layer Matching: Lets you toggle and lock layers or groups of layers based on overlap.
Adobe Stock (Photoshop): This free plugin allows you to use Adobe Stock images as elements in Photoshop.
Organize Layers: You can now drag layers between groups.

Photoshop 8: This software is obsolete and has been replaced by Photoshop CS3. However, you can still find it for sale on eBay for $12.
Mac Tools: This program was released in 2001 and features editing options.
Resise: This resizing program is also outdated but still available.

After it ships with a preset collection of useful tools and filters, Adobe Photoshop Elements adds in more in-depth tools and filters that can help you solve complicated problems and create eye-catching images.
Not all elements are alike
Elements is also split into several modules. Each of these modules contains similar tools, but with their own specific features. Each module is called a ‘Kuler’ in the software (or a ‘Kuler’ in this guide).
Here’s a list of all the Kuler modules, with brief descriptions of their features:
Kuler 2:
This module brings new tools and filters to Elements. These include selective color tools, blur tools, design tools, gradient tools, and stamp brushes.
Kuler Architect:

This module contains basic Kuler tools, such as a black & white palette, an RGB color palette, and layers.
Kuler Photo & Video:
This module contains less-advanced Kuler tools and filters. It can help you create custom backgrounds and add text to images.
Kuler Print & Photo:
This module contains more advanced Kuler tools and filters. These allow you to create effects using light and shadow, change the paper quality in your photo, add text and more.
