Git: What causes “checkouts” to be slower in the future?
I have a new git repository that was created by cloning an old repository. I expect to be adding some new features to the old repository, but I don’t really want to have to clone the old repository again just to add a feature to the old repository.
The new repository is only going to be developed on for the next few months and I would like to avoid the cost of git clone the old repository.
I also don’t like my new repository being tied to the old repository.

How do I redirect a user to a “Page” from a module?
I am using Magento (v1.3.1) and want to redirect a specific user to a page, like this:

I know that in Magento 1.4.0 (or even 1.5.x for that matter) this can be accomplished through the Controller class (see here) and more recently through “Event Observer” Magento 1.7 (see here).
However, in v1.3.1 it seems like the controller doesn’t exist. Additionally, I have not yet seen a forum post that has a detailed answer to this question. Hence this question here.
