BusClock demonstrates how a SpiraClock object can be created, some properties set,
and this object rendered in a panel in Java Swing. BusClock is designed to be a
simple demonstration of the SpiraClock technology.
Methods/Properties:
A bus departure timetable is created from a CSV list of bus stop times. From the list of bus stops, each stop will be assigned a bus stop number. This
source data is stored in a file called ‘busStops.csv’, for example:

This file is read into the SpiraClock constructor, and the busStopNumbers property is assigned a value from the file.
The fields within the CSV file for the bus departure times are ‘busStopNumber’,’stopTime’, and ‘departure’. busStopNumber
should be a unique integer identifier for each bus stop. The bus stop time is stored as a string of hours, minutes, seconds, and
fractions, separated by colons. The departure field is the expected time of the bus departure from that stop. This will be shown in
Gachet.
At the end of the constructor, the busStopNumbers are set in an array and the next departures are listed in order in the bottom left-hand
corner of the panel in Gachet.
In the’setCoordinates’ method, you assign a start and an end on the Gachet display to a Gachet object, and then a busStopNumber for that
Gachet object. You also read the busStopNumber for the Gachet object and assign it to the busStopNumber variable in SpiraClock

Our philosophy and target users:
SpiraClock is based on the open source Gachet scheduler.
Gachet is an open source scheduler, which offers many features that span beyond the display of timetables and departure boards:
Onion routing and failure detection, priority scheduler, queuing, path optimization algorithms…
While Gachet is being used for timetables and departure boards, only a few of its features are used for the timetables features of BusClock.
As you can see in the screenshot, the departure time and bus number are displayed in Gachet, but the display of timetables and departures does not use Gachet.
As the input of the parameters to get the information can be used in many different ways, and at the same time the information displayed is not sensitive (date, time, city, station,…), the web services of our services are used, since they can be handled asynchronously and they don’t have to wait for the information before displaying it.

Installing OSX on the Raspberry Pi
There are a few different ways to install Ubuntu or Linux Mint on the Raspberry Pi, both of which are very easy to install. You can simply download a pre-compiled version of the OS from the official Raspberry Pi website which is about 250Mb for the Full version or you can use a tool called Pwn (Pre-Install Tool) which allows you to install the OS from the SD card without losing access to it.
Pwn can be downloaded from the raspi.org website or Google if you want to know how to install it.

To install Ubuntu, you can use the Pwn tool and just insert the SD card into the Raspberry Pi. However, once the installation has been completed and you plug the Raspberry Pi into your monitor/TV and turn it on, you should be able to enter the graphical interface (this is what I had to do with the installation), but you are now in a terminal with no GUI.
This can make it difficult to use certain applications or for you to switch to another application without restarting the Pi.
To fix this, a utility called Xorg can be used. Xorg will allow you to run different applications without having to reboot the Pi. Unfortunately, Xorg does not have the ability to access the SpiraClock. Thus, I will have to put the SpiraClock in a special directory on the Pi and use Xorg to access the clock.
The SpiraClock is 600Mb and will need to be stored in a separate directory (otherwise it will never be downloaded by Xorg and you can’t access it).

My directory structure for the SpiraClock is as follows:

As you can see, the directory is named SpiraClock because if you copy this directory in with the SpiraClock folder in the root directory of the SD card the SpiraClock will not be loaded when you start up the Pi.
To access the SpiraClock, you will need to change to the [SpiraClock] directory and then run the following command from the terminal:
