How do I use AIMstor?
The steps below will show how to set up AIMstor for a file server installation.
Step 1: Unifile account and AIMstor details:
Go to AIMstor official website and create a free account. You will receive confirmation emails from Unifile and from AIMstor regarding your account.
Under the support tab click on the User Guide link. Under the User guide there are instructions to set up AIMstor. You can also contact support@unifile.com if you need assistance.
You will be prompted to set up the connection details:
Server: Your server/router IP address with port number
Username: Admin_id – admin@example.com
What’s New In?
You can simply create policies for specific workflows or work arounds. Policies can be created for Backup, Restore, Replay, as well as Archive.
AIMstor Features:
You can use any of the above 4 to create 3 policies. Each of these policies can be assigned to a workflow and you can trigger the workflow as well. Each policy will generate the corresponding jobs and you can specify that jobs to be run at your own location or in the remote location. In case you have set up a remote location for the job, the job will be triggered on the remote location, instead of your local computer.
You can use the same directory for multiple policies, so the files can be easily replicated or backed up. You can specify the location you want files be exported to be in specific folder. In case the destination folder is a NAS, you can specify the NAS details.
AIMstor Backup
You can easily backup all the Microsoft® Office files. Generate a job (feature: Backup) to be triggered using the Remote Desktop Connection Protocol (RDP) port that lets you connect to the backup location.
You can specify the user to be able to backup and the location of the files. The location of the files will be on the target volume.
AIMstor Replay
AIMstor Replay lets you replay your stored jobs to the same or different location. It can be used to replay the data from the tape or from the NAS.
Once you are in Replay mode, the user ID will be all that is used to validate the files. No special privileges are necessary. You can use the same directory to replay or use a different folder if you want to. The difference between this file-level replay and the archive level is that you can replay it to the same location or different location.
AIMstor Archive
