Quick Start
Use the file sample.zit in the installation folder as a template for ZipIt! Script files.
Command line
ZIPIT [[-s] script_file_list | @response_file]
-s – silent (assume overwrite)
script_file_list – list of ZipIt! Script file names
response_file – contains command line
If there is no script file specified on the command line the user will be prompted to choose one.
ZipIt! Script File Format

Path = zip_file_name Name of the ZIP file to be created or added to
Compression = n n = 0,..,9 compression level (optional, default: 6)
Password = password Password for encryption (optional, default: no encryption)
Option = n Overwrite option for existing zip files (optional, default: 0)
n = 0: The ZIP file will be update, i.e. newer versions of existing entries will overwrite older ones
n = 1: The ZIP file will be overwritten after user confirmation.
n = 2: The ZIP file will always be overwritten
n = 3: Insert timestamp in zip_file_name
[FileList]
file_specification [/s] List of files to be added, possibly containing wildcards. Use the optional switch /s to include all subfolders.

This program is useful for batch creation of zip files with DOS. It’s originally written by Anthony Hyman. Using DOS (WinZip/WinRAR) you can create ZIP files of any size with no limit, except the one you want to impose (see the note above). Apart from that ZipIt! Example
Create ZIP file called Pictures and add picture.gif to it:

Use the following command to extract the ZIP file.

To overwrite the existing ZIP file while inserting another file, i.e.
the one you want to add, use the following command:
> zipit Pictures.zip “insert a file name here”

Use the following command line to add a filename with an extension to an existing ZIP file:
> zipit Pictures.zip picture.jpg
?
Now you can also find the file picture.jpg under ZIP file called Pictures.zip.
Use the following command to move a file from one folder to another (for example from desktop to Pictures):
> zipit Pictures.zip “wildcard” “desktop”

The next one to add a folder to ZIP file using the variable @ResponseFile is to add a folder called Pictures containing the ZIP files that you will want to zip later. The process is similar to the preceding command.
