I had the same problem as the OP, and after some trial and error, I found out that disabling the automatic connection to USB devices saved me.
The steps I followed were:
Change Settings > USB connections > Connection settings from “Automatically connect” to “Never connect”
Open Device Manager (Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Device Manager)
Right-click My Computer, point to Manage > Device Managers
Right-click the list of device manager and disable the Windows Device Manager
Tick the box “Windows Device Manager”
The Windows Device Manager was properly disabled.
Restart and reconnect your device.
Now in Device Manager, the issue is resolved.
