This software just appeared and appears to be a fairly competent and useful little program that does exactly what it says on the tin. It has all the features you would expect from such a tool but has some really nice extras that make it unique. It is well worth testing out on your computer.

1) Installation:
When you first launch The Magic Folder, you will be asked to locate it’s installation directory.
Select the Save folder to store the configuration file and user preferences on your computer.
Using default settings, the program will place the configuration file in your Documents folder.
2) Selecting Your Preference Folders:
The Magic Folder allows users to place their previously defined folders in which to move files.
There are four preset folders (see picture below), as well as two more folders (Empty and Trash) to create your own folders, among others.
When you click the Add Folder button, The Magic Folder will display a window similar to that below:
Simply enter the file extension for the folder and click Next:
You can also select a folder name (ex. Internet Favorites, Video Files, Picture Files, Document Files, Internet Settings, etc.)
If you don’t like the default folder name the program generates, you can change it.
Do this by selecting the folder style, color and size (docked and undocked).
After configuring, the folder list is visible in the left side of the window, while the window itself is shown in a proportional way in the right side of the screen.
Just click the Save button to save your changes, as shown in the below picture:
