However, it is not recommended to start Ubuntu directly from Windows.

yes. you can attach the wubi.exe file to an email, and at your next boot, you just click the email link (example: bill@mycompany.com) and it installs for you. Note that this is not secure. You don’t know what happened to your machine, but at this point you can’t change that.

it’s not WUBI, it’s an Ubuntu install in an ISO, it’s the Live CD that you burn to a USB. wubi would install from a cd iso, no usb involved.
Also, just to answer your question, the entire windows is going to be removed, not just the boot manager. You’ll be able to boot to the ubuntu live disk without having to hit f8 or anything like that.
Wubi works, but if you want to do more than make an Ubuntu live disk, you can do that through Live USB creator, and you can even make your Windows partition bootable so it doesn’t need Wubi.

This will make Wubi work as an alternative Ubuntu download site, so that it doesn’t need to be pointed to from torrentz.net by the default torrentz search engine. You can ignore the line if it is already in your file.
When you are at the Desktop, click on the Ubuntu CD icon to install Ubuntu inside Wubi.

Installation Process:

Accept the default installation directory
Select the language and keyboard layout
Now a brief 5 step installation wizard will appear. It will guide you through the installation process, which will require a reboot and log you in as a new user.
The first user is Wubi, and he has a default password of ‘wubi’. You can change it to whatever you like.

The third step asks you which desktop environment you want to install. Choose whichever one you want to use.

This will start the log-in process. Enter your username and your password.
Type in your Ubuntu root password.
When the password change confirmation dialog appears, enter your password again.
Note: You don’t have to enter an Ubuntu password in order to use your system. But just in case, you should change your password now.
You should not be left waiting long for the reboot. It will take around 5-10 minutes.
