Let’s face it, the Elden Ring is pretty new, but I’ve been playing it for 4 months and I still haven’t explored it all, so there’s a lot of new content to explore. Why should anyone even care? Well, a little of everything is great, especially if it’s a new RPG, and it’s fantasy, who doesn’t like to blow stuff up? Why is it different from other RPG’s? Well, the main differences are that the game keeps very track of your points, which you make by using two different character attributes, strength and magic, your class, and of course your race.

Character attributes represent your strength and magic and are where the class and race come into play. The main type of attributes are for strength and magic and are either Animal or Plant. Plant attributes are obviously stronger and have more health, but take longer to recover. As for a class, you can be a cleric, rogue, warrior, or wizard. Each class has its own pros and cons and is very useful. The wizard class is the strongest of the bunch. They use magic and are very powerful, but have some weaknesses, such as low health. The warrior class is the second strongest. They can use both magic and animal attributes and are very useful. The Rogue class is also useful and can use animal attributes as well as magic. The cleric is the weakest of the bunch and uses only magic, but is a very strong class. The final class is the rogue. They can use both animal and plant attributes and are very weak on magic. As for a race, you can choose from the following: elf, orc, dwarf, human, and beastman. Human has the lowest health and cannot use magical items. This class is only useful on the low level areas as the dungeon floors will normally be inhabited with combat beasts, which have one health and look like a humanoid.

The starting area consists of a town, which has several shops that sell various things and a spa that heals certain classes.

ELDEN RING REVIEW.
Hey all, I’m gonna play a quick ElS review if I can find the time. I think there was a review thread here for a while, but I don’t see it. Then again, I could have just missed it so here goes.

Story: Awesome! With the theme of the ring this particular game doesn’t have much of one, but it doesn’t really need to. The setting and characters are quite a bit unique in that they act and feel like a well-done Dark Souls-esque game that almost crosses over the line into being an homage.

Gameplay: A fairly solid game, it is kept afloat by a very strong emphasis on the action. I’d have preferred to see less of the exploration and more of the action, but the RPG elements are quite welcome so all is good.

Combat: Hits hard and hits fast. There’s a lot of ways to execute an attack and the best ways to maximize damage output. It’s an action combat that should hold your interest.

Replayability: This is a tough category for me. There is more to be gained from more RPG elements, so for me the replay value is only as good as how much fun I have while playing it. In this case, it’s pretty good.

Verdict: What can I say? When you have a game that shares enough gameplay styles with something else to keep my interest it’s hard to hate.
