    This game has proved to me that a game studio can do more than just sell items… A game studio can create the entire game from the ground up. This genre of games has simply been a dying breed for a long time, but this game looks like the start of a comeback for the genre.

    Have to disagree with the comparison to 8-bit, as compared to that, this game seems to be something that it represents a leap forward by comparison. Everything about this game looks beautiful, from the music, which is catchy and satisfying when performing heroic moves, to the distinctive art style of each of the worlds/dungeons. Achieving an impressive level of detail on an old 2D platformer, that’s impressive. There are dozens of weapon choices, from melee, to bow, to magic, to dark magic, to summon, to force, to monstrous, and more. And each of these are implemented more than adequately. The combat feels satisfying and the MMO elements do not try to overthrow the game and destroy the quality I would expect from a traditional RPG.

    The game seems to have a lot of good ideas, but there are a few areas that could use some polish. Namely, there are a lot of text boxes that look almost identical. For example, I can see the name of the character, how much money I have, when and where I need to level up, etc.

    While the gameplay itself is fine, there are a number of features that could use a bit more love. By that, I mean the game could have been much better if they had spent a bit more time on the above text boxes, so they all look different.

    The total length of time I spent on this game was over 5 hours, and I can see that the game will reward a long time investment. I would say that the game is worth $20, but if you have a better time perception than me, the game could probably be completed in one afternoon.

    The game is best played while on a large sized laptop, but it is unlikely that you will have that option if you are a PS3 owner. I suspect that this game was a bit too ambitious for the PS3, and a move to the PC would fix that. That said, if you have a PS3, it looks like it would be a great opportunity to get a taste of the genre.
